British Castles

Castles have been around for hundreds of years. A castle is where the royal family lives.
Arrow slits
The arrow slits are used because if the enemy wants to shoot the knight it would be more challenging for them and it would be more easier for the knights to be hidden. The slits are really slim.
Keep
A keep is handy when the castle is under attack. Mostly only the royal family goes into the keep. Other people have to sacrifice their lives.
Drawbridge
The drawbridge is lowered over the moat. If there is a war then some people will pull the chain and the drawbridge will close, then the opposition team won’t be able to get in.
Spiral staircase
A spiral staircase is found in a tower. It is a spiral because the tower is like a cylinder and the staircase can’t go straight it will have to go in a spiral
